organizational chart

Student democracy is built up democratically at the various levels locally or nationally, through elections held by and for active students at NLA. The democratically elected representatives also stand as representatives of the students at NLA in various offices, committees and selections at NLA (see picture) and externally in relevant student organisations.

The Student Council is the local student democratic body at NLA, which is self-constitutive and consists of shop stewards from all cohorts in each study programme.

The student parliament is the superior student democratic body at NLA, which is self-constitutive and partly made up of shop stewards from the student council, to ensure interaction and good communication between the two main bodies in student democracy. The Student Parliament's board, the working committee is responsible for clarifying matters and presenting this to the Student Parliament's meetings.

organizational advisor NLA

Student democracy has its own organizational advisor (org. advisor) who is a staff member at NLA that functions as a support for the Student democracy and facilitates cooperation between the Student democracy and NLA University College.

The organizational advisor particularly assists the Student Parliament's leader and deputy leaders to guide and ensure quality, visibility and continuity. In addition to facilitating and being responsible for the implementation of elections and overlap between outgoing and future participants in the Student democracy, org. adviser is a point of contact for both NLA University College and the Student Democracy, with enough knowledge of the HE-sector and the employees at NLA to provide guidance and step in to aid when needed.
